Bonsai big bonzai

I derive my sculptural inspiration from our natural environment on the west coast of Canada. We are surrounded by soaring trees, the Pacific Ocean, a rolling wild geography and typical west coast weather. This makes for a wonderful soup that feeds the imagination. My medium, mostly recycled materials which are repurposed, reconfigured into wild forms representing the landscape of the coastal islands where I live. I create artworks where the media must work together to support, to balance one another, similar to nature. Rocks support trees, trees are home for birds and birds navigate the windy skies.

Each piece is quite unique, though pursuing a constant theme, expressing an ideal in new ways every time. Some works express a windy context while others demonstrate a fondness for the disciplined art of bonsai.
